Scholarships

Our 2023 Scholarship is closed.

Parda’s Scholarship Program was established in 2006 to honor students who have shown scholastic excellence and leadership in their schools and communities. Parda is proud of our students and has provided $80,000 in scholarships to past recipients who have not only shown excellent scholastic achievement, but also embody the credit union philosophy of people helping people through their community work. This year, we are awarding 3 scholarships for our annual contest:

1st place: $2,500
2nd place: $1,500
3rd place: $1,000

Scholarship Requirements

  • Membership in Parda Credit Union is not required at the time of scholarship application. However, if you are selected you must become a member of Parda Credit Union before your scholarship is awarded.
  • Applicants must submit an essay answer to one of the proposed questions in 1,000 words or less.
  • Applicants must currently be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited college, community college, university, U.S. trade or vocational school.
  • Applicants must demonstrate participation in service to their school and/or community.
  • Previous recipients and applicants are eligible to apply again if they still meet the eligibility criteria.

By submitting this essay, the applicant agrees that it is their original work and all other personal information is true. The applicant understands that the essay and application become the property of Parda Federal Credit Union for whatever use they deem appropriate. Such use by the Credit Union shall not violate any applicable law. They agree to cooperate with Parda Federal Credit Union in promotional activities related to the scholarship competition, and should the applicant be selected a winner, gives Parda permission to use their name and photo in promotional activities. All scholarships will be issued in the name of the applicant and their attending college, unless otherwise decided by the Credit Union. Membership in Parda Credit Union is not required at the time of scholarship application. However, if you are selected you must become a member of Parda before your scholarship is awarded. Requirement for membership will include a minimum deposit of $25 to open and maintain your membership in Parda Federal Credit Union.
